Guitars and Cameras
No Cadillacs or hillbilly music, but we had fun.
The only thing I’ve pursued longer than photography is playing music. Once I had a camera, I was taking pictures of my friends playing music, combining the two passions. Most of the photos I took were candid, captured in the moment, although I also had ideas for staged shots.

This first image is a self portrait taken in my basement two and a half years ago. It was the start of what I hoped would become some sort of series, but that was as far as it went. Fast forward two years: I'm sitting behind the drums in the new jam space that my friend and bandmate graciously made available to us, and I realize it would be a great space for a similar shoot.
Fortunately, I play with a great group of guys who are always willing to help, and they agreed to humor me by going along with it. I had a rough concept in mind for each photo, and I really love how they turned out. Thanks for looking!
