Infinite, Serene, Boundless
The night sky is unbelievable.

I love photographing the night sky. The image that appears on the screen is often quite different from what you see with your eyes in the same location, and that still feels like magic to me. I was at my parents' house this weekend—the same place where I grew up—and the conditions turned out to be perfect for night photography: no moon and no clouds.

The dock in these photos, just a few steps from the back door, has appeared in many of my shots over the years. I'm always looking for new ways to photograph it. These first two images were captured on the first night of my stay—one a 20-second exposure, and the other a stacked, 30-minute exposure. Then I played with some double exposures, adding movement with the second shots.

On the second night, I went out to shoot again, but this time, I wanted to try something different. Usually, I seek out beautiful natural scenes for my night sky photos, but this time I focused on everyday scenes around the house instead. I think some of these are worth exploring further on my next visit. Thanks for looking!
