Mining Equipment and Boats
Some recent shots I like.

I visited an iron ore mining museum up on the Iron Range this week to see if I could capture some Polaroids for my Lifted Dreams project. While I was there, I also experimented with my Fuji, mostly with multiple exposures.

On to the next set. Every Wednesday in the summer, there are sailboat races on Lake Superior, very close to where I live. For the past two years, I’ve told myself I should try photographing these races, but every Thursday morning, while driving by the lake, I realize I’ve missed them again. Well, this week, I finally made it.

Although I didn’t capture what I had envisioned, it was really nice to sit by the water on a mild September day, mesmerized by the sails crisscrossing in front of me. Anytime I sit by the lake and look toward the horizon, it feels like the rest of the world is behind me, and it's surprisingly calming—a kind of meditation, I suppose. I should do it more often. Anyway, here are a few shots from that evening. Maybe I’ll give it another try next year. Thanks for looking!
