Polaroid Homemade Multichrome

A New Series Using Polaroid Transparencies

Polaroid Homemade Multichrome

I finally had time to pull together some images from a new project.

These are all Polaroid transparencies overlaid on colored paper and then photographed through glass. Making transparencies was one of the first Polaroid modifications I learned, and I've been meaning to start a project using this technique for a long time.

If you aren't familiar with how it's done, making a transparency from a Polaroid involves taking a photo, letting it develop, immediately slicing off the edges with a razor, and then gently peeling the two layers apart. All of the lighter areas of the image then become transparent.

I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with the colored paper, and I have a few other ideas in mind for future iterations. Being able to do projects like this is one of my favorite things about photography. I love documenting life too, but getting a little weird is always needed. Thanks for looking.
