Polaroid Transparencies and Bleach

Playing with adding color to black and white Polaroids

Polaroid Transparencies and Bleach

This week I went back to doing some Polaroid transparencies. You can see the first set I did here https://danjandl.substack.com/p/polaroid-homemade-multichrome.

These are done by pulling apart the layers of a Polaroid right after it’s finished developing and then overlaying it onto some sort of surface. I really like the bright paper I used last time, so I added some bleach to the mix this week.

These are a lot of fun to make once you have the photos. I put on some tunes and just play around with different combinations of paper. Thanks for looking!

Here is an overhead of the setup I used for this batch. I laid some glass over each composition to hold it in-place and then photographed it with my digital camera.
Polaroid Transparency
I don’t remember what this photo is, but there is something about it I like. The background for this is a paper towel with some food coloring.
Bridge Polaroid Transparency
This is the walking bridge over the freeway shot with a linear prism.

Hand Saw Polaroid Transparency
Hand saw overlaid with botched shot. Also the linear prism filter.. I guess I really liked that one this week.

Railing. I really like how the bleach has a glowing look to it here.
Skull Polaroid Transparency
This is the same skull from my last batch of transparencies, just a different composition with the paper.
