The Opposite of Default
Sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes neither.
I like the idea of doing the opposite of my default. Not for everything of course, but certain things.

My default for my client work is to be precise, controlled, and polished. Sometimes this carries into my personal work, and sometimes that is great. Sometimes I need to do the opposite.

Sometimes I need to see what will happen if I mix things up and surprise myself. Sometimes I need to know what will happen if I do something that feels like I’m using my left hand when I’m right handed.

Sometimes I need to see what it feels like to walk into a space I’ve been in a million times, but in complete darkness. Sometimes I need to know that I have no control over the outcome, and that if I just let something happen, it could be interesting.

Maybe it’s good, maybe it’s bad, maybe it’s neither, but it leads to something that I never would have imagined if I hadn’t decided to take another path.

These shots are all from the previous week. One in-camera double exposure and the rest were combined in PS. Thanks for looking.
