Wind Whipped
Crushing Wind Over the Lake

On really windy days, you can hear Lake Superior from my back yard. If you didn’t know the Lake was nearby, it would sound like some ominous, mysterious force approaching in a sci-fi movie.
Recommended listening for this one:

As you get close to the shoreline, you can feel vibrations under your feet from the force of the waves crashing into the ledge rock.

As you get even closer to the water and as the things in your periphery disappear, you suddenly feel very small.

The raw power is undeniable and it forces the chatter in your head to be silent and you are very aware of your current experience. It feels like a constant roar surrounding you.

As you start to head back to your car, the roar starts to fade a bit. Instead of being surrounded by it, you are now feeling less affected with each step, but still see it’s effects.

Finally back in the car, with the heat blasting, you can feel the car rock from time to time as the wind picks up.

I’m glad to be able to experience this place, but looking forward to a hot cup of coffee. Thanks for looking.
